Dr. Chee Lee

Dr. Chee Lee is a Board Certified Internal Medicine physician with 17 years of experience, having cared for patients in primary care clinic settings, hospitals, emergency rooms and urgent care. His main interests are in Adult Medicine, treating anyone above the age of 18, with an emphasis in Geriatric Medicine.

As an Internal Medicine specialist, he is skilled in treating patients with complex, multi-system diseases, including, but not limited to conditions like Diabetes, Digestive/Intestinal disorder, Heart disease, Hypertension, Lung diseases (Asthma, COPD/Emphysema), Kidney/Urologic disorders, Thyroid/Glandular disorders, Arthritis/Rheumatologic disorders, and Infectious diseases. Dr. Lee is also skilled in treating many common dermatologic and orthopedic ailments. His background as a pharmacist has also served him well when it comes to managing complex medication regimens. Dr. Lee takes a special interest in Neurology and Psychiatry as well.

Dr. Lee is also skilled in many office-based procedures, including:
  • EKG with interpretations
  • Joint Injections (shoulder, elbow, fingers/toes, knee, and hips/bursa injections)
  • Trigger point injections
  • Skin biopsy (punch and shave biopsies)
  • Skin tag, and mole removals/excisions
  • Seborrheic keratosis, and Actinic Keratosis (Precancerous) treatments
  • Ingrown toenail removal
  • Spirometry with interpretations
  • Minor laceration repair
Dr. Lee's philosophy on patient care rests on the premises that emotional/mental health is as important as physical health, and that patients have to be equal participants in achieving optimal outcome of their treatments. A mentor once told Dr. Lee that, “if you truly listen to your patient, you would arrive at a diagnosis in almost 90% of the time”. The “Art of Listening” has not been lost to Dr. Lee, and despite the years in practice, he still strives to become a better “listener” every day. Dr. Lee is not afraid of telling patients that he does not have all the answers, but certainly very willing to use any available resources, including referral to specialists and tertiary care centers when appropriate.

A lesser known fact about Dr. Lee: he was raised in Malaysia and Singapore, and came to the US as a 17 year old for college. He still maintains strong ties to South East Asia where he has family and friends. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, and Cantonese. In his free time, he enjoys antique shopping, cooking, gardening, home-improving projects, sketching and coloring. He is hoping to improve on his Chinese Calligraphy.
